Consortium Student Affiliate Established

Contributed by Kira Manser, Student Coordinator

The Student Affiliate Group of the Sexuality and Aging Consortium at Widener University held its first meeting in January 2011. Approximately one dozen students participated, representing diverse experiences and interests, including two students who connected through a conference call.

Consortium President Peggy Brick  and Betsy Crane, director of Widener’s Graduate Programs in Human Sexuality, attended to provide guidance and support for the students.  The Student Affiliate Group will connect students seeking to work with the Consortium to change the way our society thinks about sexuality within the aging community.

There will also be opportunities for students to connect with professionals working in the field of sexuality and aging. There are many exciting possibilities for research, training, and networking within this student run group.
